A Busy And Progressive Year So Far
This year has been full of progress, growth, and collaboration across many areas of our work.
What We Have Seen So Far
- Publication of Alistair’s debut book, Ready For The Gate- Transforming Lives Behind Bars and Beyond.
- The setup of further Drylining Academies within Prisons.
- Continued support and involvement for the industry through volunteering and panels.
- Sharing innovative and effective work practices through the new podcast.
- Training the new workforce and refreshing the training of those already on Construction sites.

Ready For The Gate C.I.C is proud to share the following successes with you.
Ready For The Gate Programme
We are proud to announce that, together with CHSG and the support of 12 stakeholders, we have set up two Drylining Training Academies inside Surrey prisons:
· HMP Highdown
· HMP Coldingley
Following their success, two more prisons have now approached us to create academies:
· HMP Feltham
· HMP Long Lartin
These academies provide men and women with convictions the skills and confidence to be job-ready upon release, while also helping Tier 1 contractors and SMEs meet their Section 106 commitments.
Book & Events
It has been really exciting to see Ready For The Gate - Transforming Lives Behind Bars and Beyond gaining more attention.
Alistair attended a book review at HMP Maidstone library and a literacy event at HMP Stanford Hill, with further events now being planned in other prisons.
Ready For The Gate took part as a panel member at the Worshipful Company of Constructors event in London, sharing thoughts on employing people with convictions in construction.
Volunteering & Panels
Giving back to the industry remains a priority. With this in mind, Alistair continues his role as Sustainability Ambassador at the CIOB Maidstone Hub.
Alistair also serves on the Registration Authority Panel for the Society for the Environment.
As well as, sharing ideas and exploring collaborative solutions for industry challenges on Bryson Innovation Panel.

The debut book from Alistair Donaghey is an inspiring and thought-provoking guide that challenges readers to step outside their comfort zones and explore how to support people with convictions. In particular, the book outlines a clear path for reintegrating people with convictions into the Construction Industry.

Alistair teams up with Construction Health and Safety Group to produce a series of podcasts that discuss how he implemented cordless tools onto his construction sites 10 years ago. Alistair shares what he learned and provides listeners with a blueprint on how to overcome the many hurdles he faced, so you can start your own cordless journeys on your sites.

Charity Support
Ready For The Gate C.I.C sponsors the charity, Sateda, who are located on the Isle of Sheppey. Sateda is a domestic abuse charity who support women and children escape and recover from trauma they experience at home.
Ready For The Gate C.I.C also sponsor Marcus Longue as a member of the Irish nation Clay Pigeon shooting team.
